amanasalto is presenting Araki's "Hong Kong Kiss" in photographic prints for the first time at the exhibition "SHASHIN! Japanese Photography Then / Now", currently taking place in Sotheby’s S|2 Hong Kong Gallery.

In the spring of 1997, Araki visited Hong Kong, a city facing drastic socio-political changes due to its imminent handover from England to China and vividly captured the changing cityscapes - the tearing down of old structures as well as the everyday lives of citizens.

52 out of over 5000 cuts were carefully selected by amanasalto from this defining Hong Kong series and all images presented in photographic prints for the first time are printed in platinum and palladium. The Hong Kong Kiss series were highly acclaimed by numerous media press and guests since the opening of the exhibition.
