志镰猛出生在日本，一个许多人们传统上紧邻着大自然生活，甚至崇拜大地之母的国家。志镰投身于拍摄出“森林的呼吸”，他的作品中能让人感受到森林的生命力，仿佛正在聆听着森林的呼吸声。令人悲伤的事实是，这些森林在许多城市中都很快的被砍伐消失了，而我们逐渐失去与森林的亲和感。志镰希望将拍摄的作品作为一首献给自然的安魂曲。他对大地之母的感激和敬畏在系列《Silent Respiration of Forests》里充分的表达出来，如同他跟森林诚挚衷心的对话。
