amanasalto is presenting ANDO BOX III, a photography portfolio of Tadao Ando’s architecture photographed by Ando himself. The new portfolio includes images of Ando’s architecture located outside of Japan captured through his own perspectives and is an anthology of his international works.

Without seeking any formal education, Ando gained his knowledge and position as one of the world’s top architects by his own learning experience as he walked through landscapes, civilizations and architecture of all ages and cultures around the world. Photographs of architecture designed by such architect are different from typical architectural photography — they are indeed the prototype of Ando’s concepts and the prototype of creations by human civilization. Thus this portfolio of Ando’s photographs demonstrates the universality of his own architecture.

In determination to present the monumentality and timelessness of Ando’s architecture, the portfolio, following the 1st and 2nd rounds, will be published with our platinum printing technology of the highest permanence.
